Vaginal Hygiene Practices
The vagina is self-cleaning. Douches and scented products disrupt vaginal health.
Use either warm clear water or a pH-balanced vulvar wash externally.
Wash the clitoral tip by gently pulling back the clitoral hood.
Choose a personal lubricant for sex that is pH-balanced and does not include glycerin or parabens.
Urinate after sex to clear body fluids and lubricants from the urethra, reducing the chances of a UTI.
To reduce the chances of bacterial vaginosis (BV), be careful that body parts and toys never contact the vulva after the anus.
Avoid sexual food play near the vagina, as altering the pH and natural bacteria can result in a yeast or bacterial infection.
